The Asia Pacific Outgames Melbourne 2008 will be a highlight feature of the Midsumma Festival which presents an annual arts and cultural festival that, within a safe and healthy environment, celebrates the pride and diversity of Melbourne's gay, lesbian and allied communities. |

Organisers of the inaugural Asia Pacific Outgames are planning to stage a regional gay and lesbian, multi-sport event in Melbourne, Australia and set to take place between January 30 - February 3, 2008 during the Midsumma Festival – Melbourne’s premier gay and lesbian cultural and arts festival. Some 100 events are delivered over 21 days each January and February comprising visual art, theatre, cabaret, spoken word, literature, music, parties, community forums and sport. |
We are currently planning 8 to12 sport tournaments and activities as part of the Asia Pacific Outgames Melbourne 2008 to get you playing with your neighbours. These will spread across a diverse rage of sports including field hockey. So if you’ve been thinking about doing something sporty, then check out the official Asia Pacific Outgames website, and get ready for next year. Now is the perfect time to join and take a fresh look at sport! |
Everyone is welcome to join the field hockey tournament during The Asia Pacific Outgames. Whether you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, straight, this makes no difference. The colour of your skin, hair or eyes as well as your religion, beliefs, race, age, gender or the way you want to dress or choose to live is not an issue. As long you are a field hockey player or a fan of the game you are more than welcome to join. Further, it is not important if the participants are good hockey players or not, enjoyment is the most important equirement. If your not yet a member of an team or don’t now any other PinkHockey players, don’t worry, you can sign up as an individual and we will set you up within a team | |
