...because in July 2008 the city of Barcelona is going to play host to the EuroGames Barcelona 2008, the European championship for gay, lesbian and transsexual sportsmen/women and their friends. An amazing event which will involve more 30,000 people and which for a few days will transform Barcelona into the authentic European capital of sport and gay and lesbian culture. |
EuroGames Barcelona 2008 will consist of 28 sporting events together with a range of cultural and leisure activities based in and around the city. The event will make its mark on Barcelona for a few days as more than 5,000 sporting participants descend upon the city from all corners of Europe. There will be two days full of sport, culture, debates and fun,… but above all, emotions. We want everyone who takes part in EuroGames Barcelona 08 to remember them as that special moment they shared with us in barcelona, our home city. |
The great sports capacity and quality of barcelona and the surrounding cities, will ensure the use of top level sports venues for the majority of the sports, including some breathtaking venues that were used for the Olympics in 1992. Furthermore, the structure of the city, open, respectful, plural, forward-thinking, artistic, architectural, and with a strong focus on tourism, is an important starting point in order to offer you that magical atmosphere you expect to find when visiting us. |
Together with this, the outstanding effort of lots of people who are already working and collaborating on the organization of the EuroGames Barcelona 08, and many more that will join us in the next months will make it possible to meet our common goal: Come South!! Play with us !!!! |

Sport & Parties: Saturday 26th night we will do the Big Party of the EuroGames. We will be waiting for you from midnight until the sunrise in the Park of the Forum. There you will find two different spaces of music, one of tecnohouse and another more retro; performances and the participation of the most important pubs of the LGTB community of Barcelona. It will be in a big space and in the open air, with good comunication with public transport. |
Ladies night: The party of the diversity o women's party wants to be a meeting point where we can share a time of fun, dancing and knowing us. We want to take advantage of this moment to join a lot of women from Barcelona, Spain and Europe, all together sharing points of view, sport women, spectators, companions, mothers, daugthers, singles, married... all we have a space in the diversity. We will have the best DJs of the moment. Come and participate and share one night of music in the open air in barcelona, in the Poble Espanyol. |
Everyone is welcome to join the field hockey tournament during EuroGames Barcelona 08. Whether you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, straight, this makes no difference. The colour of your skin, hair or eyes as well as your religion, beliefs, race, age, gender or the way you want to dress or choose to live is not an issue. As long you are a field hockey player or a fan of the game you are more than welcome to join. Further, it is not important if the participants are good hockey players or not, enjoyment is the most important requirement. If your not yet a member of an team or don’t now any other PinkHockey players, don’t worry, you can sign up as an individual and we will set you up within a team. |
- A field hockey tournament with 8 / 10 teams with mostly European teams (participants). Open for all PinkHockey members and other field hockey players from around the world. |
