The World Outgames 2009 in Copenhagen, Denmark will feature GLISA's core program elements - a multi-sport event, a cultural program to celebrate LGBT culture, and a human rights conference - building upon the legacy created by the 1 st World Outgames Montréal 2006. Supported byWonderful Copenhagen, the regional tourism bureau, the 2 nd World Outgames will take place from 1 - 8 August 2009, and will occur in conjunction with Copenhagen's Pride Festival. |

Since 2006 World Outgames 2009 has been organised under Wonderful Copenhagen. From 1st January 2007 the establishment of a new organisation will give the necessary freedom of action and ongoing management of the funds set aside for the project. Copenhagen municipal politicians will be involved in the work of the organisation, and the new board will benefit from the talents of members from the City Council, Wonderful Copenhagen, Pan Idræt and the LGBT community. |
The parties have collaborated to establish an organisation to handle the event, which encompasses partnerships with sponsors and volunteers prior to and during the event. The organisation will also be responsible for contact with hotels and transport companies to ensure an appropriate execution of the event |
